Field Technician
The Kensington Conservancy is a local land trust that protects over 1,200 acres of ecologically sensitive land in the St. Joseph Channel area. We are looking to hire one employee to conduct property monitoring, ecological surveys, trail maintenance, community outreach, volunteer engagement and other associated tasks

Duties and Responsibilities
- monitor nature preserves for disturbances and general ecological health
- collect data on the presence of flora and fauna species on nature preserves
- conduct species inventories
- implement wildlife monitoring programs
- assist with educational programs within the local community, especially for youth
- cultivate volunteer engagement and increased participation in projects
- provide guided tours of nature preserves to community members
- assist with community outreach and fundraising events
- conduct general trail maintenance
Qualifications and Skills Required
- post-secondary diploma or degree in a field related to natural resources
- identification of local flora and fauna species, including invasive species
- knowledge of local ecosystems and how they function
- experience working outdoors in all weather conditions and exceptional outdoor navigation skills
- experience using Microsoft Office, Google, mapping and other related software
- the ability to work both independently and as a team
- valid drivers license
- valid pleasure craft operators card
- candidate must be 18 years of age or older and legally eligible to work in Canada
- available for some evening and weekend work
- must complete a vulnerable sector check
