Environmental Educator
The Kensington Conservancy is a local land trust that protects over 1,200 acres of ecologically sensitive land in the St. Joseph Channel area. We are looking to hire a seasonal employee to implement our youth education programs and other initiatives related to environmental education within the community.
Location: Desbarats, Ontario
Duration of Contract: 8-10 weeks starting mid-to-late June 2024

Compensation: $17.55/hour (35 hours/week)

Duties and Responsibilities
- organize and implement the TKC Junior Explorers program
- organize and implement the Explorer Summer Day Camp
- lead guided hikes
- organize education and outreach events in the local community
- conduct general education and outreach
- develop education and outreach materials (brochures, social media posts, etc.)
Qualifications and Skills Required
- completed, or currently completing, a diploma or degree in a field related to education or natural resources
- experience working with youth and the public
- knowledge of basic environmental and nature topics
- experience using computer programs
Candidate Eligibility
- must be a youth between the ages of 15 and 30 and a permanent resident of Canada
- available for some evening and weekend work
- must complete a vulnerable sector check
