Supporting The Kensington Conservancy

The Kensington Conservancy relies heavily on your memberships fees and donations to operate.  To make a donation, choose the appropriate option at the bottom of this page.  Thank you for supporting The Kensington Conservancy, we really do appreciate it!

Thanks for your support during the 2020 TKC Annual Campaign!

Thank you for your ongoing support for The Kensington Conservancy. Your financial gifts make it possible for TKC to protect our properties and conservation easements, maintain our trails, and provide programming.

Members are as important as our lands. This year we would like to share comments from some of our longtime members and friends. Please enjoy their thoughts as you consider your annual gift to The Kensington Conservancy.

“We have been members of TKC since its formation and have proudly seen the organization acquire many parcels of land in the Desbarats area.  We encourage our community to continue this environmental protection which will be so appreciated by generations to come.  Also, of equal importance is the emphasis on educational programs which have grown in popularity.  Keep up the good work TKC!!!”
~Calvine and Charlie Bowen

“Just some of the wildlife seen and enjoyed ... otters, loons, fox, bobcats, lynx, beaver, bear, racoon. Not to mention some of the winged friends seen regularly .... bluejays, bald eagles, kingfishers, chickadees, woodpeckers, songbirds. All embraced now by a perfusion of autumn colours and watched over by imperial, majestic pines. Living in this area is a lottery of life windfall. Thanks to the mission and activities of The Kensington Conservancy, there is added insurance this nature preserve will survive and flourish throughout future years.”
~Grateful Canadian contributors, Butch and Marty Mossing

“Our enjoyment of Desbarats summers is important to all of us, and I know much missed by American summer residents this year because of COVID19. There were quite a few changes also for Canadians -- curbside pickup at shops, masks, distancing indoors and out, socializing that was limited and cautious -- it was all a little odd. The Marina had a car park filled with boats, not cars, and not much in the way of docks. But the wildlife around our island – geese, loons, gulls, cormorants, eagles, beavers and muskrats, salmon and pickerel, little red squirrels -- were all busily going about their usual business. Perhaps some birds missed the feeders they were expecting (I noticed that Susan and Patrick had two for the hummingbirds to make up), and we sometimes found ourselves tying up boats to underwater cleats, and wading along slippery docks. But nothing that really mattered had altered at all. It made me reflect that the beauty of the area depends so much on how little change there has been over the century or more that the summer people have been coming there. So it is very reassuring to know that, for some of the most important and interesting and lovely parts of the area, that lack of change will be protected by the painstaking care of The Kensington Conservancy for the foreseeable future.”
~Philippa (Maggie) Wallace Matheson (back, alas, in Toronto)

“There are very few places left in this world like this one. We are all very lucky to have found it many years ago. Each generation seems to feel this way. So do your best to support The Kensington Conservancy, which supports us.”
~Ann Chamberlin

Again, thank you for your contributions to The Kensington Conservancy. Hopefully, we will all connect next summer.

Sincerely,

Alice Hill, President
