Celebrate Earth Day by submitting your nature sightings from the Algoma District to iNaturalist! This is a three day long event, taking place April 22nd to 24th, 2022. This event is brought to you by the City of Sault Ste. Marie, Sault Ste. Marie Region Conservation Authority, and The Kensington Conservancy.

How to participate:

Step 1: Create an iNaturalist account.

Step 2: Download the iNaturalist app on your mobile device (Google Play or Apple App Store) and learn about how to submit an observation here.

Step 3: Register for the bioblitz on The Kensington Conservancy's website (to the left) in order to be eligible for prizes.

Step 4: Go outside between April 22nd and 24th, take photos of any wild plant or animal that you encounter within the Algoma District, and upload them through the app on your smartphone or through the website on your computer. You must submit at least five (5) observations to be eligible for prizes.

Step 5: Visit the Algoma Earth Day BioBlitz project throughout the weekend to see everyone else's observations!

Prizes to be won include:

  • Waste free cleaning prize pack from Hearterra (valued at $50)
  • Day hike survival kit (valued at $50)
  • Great Lakes Outfitters gift certificate (valued at $50)

Prizes winners will be randomly drawn for all eligible participants.
