Come Out to the Sustain Algoma Expo on Saturday!

SUSTAIN ALGOMA EXPO
______________________________________________

July 20, 2016 - The 2016 Sustain Algoma Expo is taking place this Saturday, July 23, at the Johnson Township Community Centre in Desbarats from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Admission to this event is free! This family fun event promotes living sustainably in Algoma. 
The event will feature unique initiatives and products that include food & agriculture, wood products, water management, social enterprise, arts & culture and more from over 25 exhibitors.

In addition to booths set up by companies and organizations, there will be a pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. with proceeds going towards the Central Algoma Freshwater Coalition. 

Children will have the opportunity to have their face painted from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.  Habitat for Humanity will be collecting donations of used furniture which they will sell at their Sault Ste. Marie ReStore location.

This year’s expo will also include the 1st Annual Sustain Algoma Art Exhibition.  Artists have submitted artwork focusing on the St. Mary’s River and they will be on display for everyone to see.   

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry will be preforming demonstrations with their canine unit at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. 
Entomica Insectarium will be showing off their insects from around the world. Clean North will be there with their composting worms. 
 
The expo is put on by the Kensington Conservancy, Central Algoma Freshwater Coalition, St. Mary’s River Remedial Action Plan, Clean North, Johnson Farmers’ Market and Thinking Rock Community Arts.
